Four Healthy Summer Smoothie Recipes

Summer is in full swing and what better way to get your daily intake of fruits and veggies than with a delicious smoothie? These cool treats taste amazing while offering some major health benefits. Don’t be afraid to tweak these recipes and add extras for a nutritious summer sip!

These smoothies are simple to make — place all ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth.

Super Green Spirulina Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 medium ripe banana (previously peeled and frozen)

1/2 cup sliced cucumber (skin on)

3/4 to 1 cup light coconut milk (or your choice of milk — use less for thicker smoothie, more for thinner smoothie)

1 cup spinach or chopped kale

1 teaspoon spirulina powder

1 tablespoon hemp seed (or substitute chia seeds)

Grape Berry Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon dry chia seeds

2 scoops vanilla protein powder

1 1/2 cups seedless red or purple grapes

1/2 cup blueberries

1 teaspoon flax seed oil

1/2 cup water

Berry Superfood Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 cup mixed berries (frozen or fresh)

1–2 cups of any liquid (milk, water, juice, etc.)

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1/4 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt

1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1/8 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons chia seeds

Kale Pineapple Smoothie

Ingredients:

2 cups kale, rinsed, stems removed and coarsely chopped

1 1/2 cups fresh pineapple, cubed

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 ripe banana, peeled and cut into small chunks

1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk

1 1/2 cups of ice
